Moin, I'm Fred Fahlke.
A product designer from Northern Germany currently working at Instagram in Menlo Park, California.

In 2009 I moved to Hamburg to study graphic design at the Design Factory International. Within my first semester, I joined the Peter Schmidt Group where I worked on corporate design projects for international clients such as Bertelsmann, Linde, Henkel and many more.

At the same time, I started my own studio to work on branding and interactive projects for several clients. I developed three-dimensional brand experiences together with atelierschiefer and I also worked on branding projects with agencies like formvermittlung or cellular.

In 2012, I started my Master’s Degree in Digital Media and Interaction Design at the HAWK Hildesheim. During my studies, I also seized the opportunity to do a 6 month internship working on web projects in the interactive marketing team at Nest in Palo Alto, California.

After I finished my Masters in 2015, I moved back to the Bay Area to work full-time as an interactive art director in the Marketing team at Nest (a Google company).

I’m currently working as a product designer at Instagram helping over 30 million businesses to be successful on the platform as well as enabling meaningful connections between people and businesses.
